About
We are American expats living in Aqaba, Jordan, after moving here in April 2021 at the height of the COVID pandemic.
This website exists to provide our readers with information about this exotic country known from ancient times as a place of refuge. The children of Israel wandered in the wilderness of present-day Jordan under the protection of the Almighty before He led them into the land He promised them. King David fled here from his son Absalom's attempt to usurp the kingdom. Chapter ten of John tells even Yeshua/Jesus fled from those who would take His life.
"Again He went back across the Jordan to the place where John first started immersing, and He stayed there." John 10:39
Even today, this impoverished country, which has few natural resources, opens its arms to refugees. After Lebanon, Jordan is the number two host globally of Syrian refugees per capita.
We believe Jordan will play an important role in end-time events, specifically the ancient areas of Moab and Edom—the lower two-thirds of the country. Daniel indicates this area will provide refuge from the antichrist. He will not be able to enter this space.
“Now at the time of the end the king of the south will attack him [antichrist], and the king of the north will storm out against him with chariots, horsemen and many ships. He will invade lands and pass through them like an overflowing river.
He will also invade the Beautiful Land [Israel]. Many will be overthrown, but these will escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the chief of the sons of Ammon.
He will extend his hand against other countries; the land of Egypt will not escape. Daniel 11:40-42 TLV
"Many will be overthrown, but these will escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the chief of the sons of Ammon."
While we don't know how this will play out and why the top third of the country that belonged to the Ammonite nation will not provide protection, we feel secure the traditional nations of Moab (in the middle of the country) and Edom (in the south) will once again provide refuge for Tribulation believers.
